Pancakes are a popular trend in Japan at the moment, so I went to check out the shop that recently popped up in front of Nagoya station. Since I was here for lunch I went for a savory version. The salmon and cream cheese salad pancake was enticing, but it was covered in sauce in the picture and I wanted to be able to taste the pancake. I went for the grilled veggie pancake.
It came with a cheese bagna cauda, and a big sausage. The sausage was juicy but no different than the ones you can get in the grocery stores (except that it was long). The salad was dressed with a nice original basil dressing, that somehow also had remnants of a tea taste. The cheese sauce was nice to season both the plain pancake and grilled veggies. It tasted like processed cheese though.
The pancake was soft and dense with a dough that sticks to the roof of your mouth. Overall, it did not have much flavor, so it might be good with butter or something. Looking at the website this shop doesn't seem to boast that they use any special ingredients or cooking method...just that the owner loves making pancakes. There is a recipe posted that only contains simply flour, milk and eggs. Here, the appeal might be the toppings or texture of the pancakes. The table top honey maple sauce was not very sweet or flavorful.
I've never been to Hawaii before but this is how I imagine the atmosphere of their shops to be like; bustling with people, but you don't have to feel rushed.
Yeah dear. You can also check out the list of best San Francisco restaurants which are exclusively amazing and offering great services within your budget. I am reserving the same for my small gathering.
