7 days brew: should be called spicy chicken, not jerk

Area:  one block east of Nagoya station (behind Midland Square)
Restaurant:  7 Days Brew  セブンデイズブリュー
Website and Info:  https://www.facebook.com/7daysbrew

Hours:  5pm-1am (from 11:30am on weekends and holidays)

This used to be a Korean restaurant but it bombed after a year or so (after visiting there once before, I know why).   Now it's a bar & restaurant where you can try beers from microbreweries around Japan and from around the world.  It looks as if the daily brews change, but today there were brews from California, Scotland, Shizuoka and Hokkaido .

The bar food list is pretty extensive. I tried the black squid ink ajillo (1000 yen) It was very garlickey and the olive oil flavor was definitely present.  I'm not sure if squid ink has any flavor but this dish was nice.  The celery was a nice flavor contrast and lightened it a bit.  It was great for bread dipping.

The cabbage and cumin was a warm salad where the cabbage was steamed and flavored with cumin seeds and a broth, or soy sauce.  love cumin so this dish was, although simple, an enjoyment for me.

The music playing was a mix of r&b and techno/jazz.

Lunch is served only on weekends until 3pm.  All of the lunches come with a mini salad.  The recommendation was the popular jerk chicken (1200 yen).  This jerk was really juicy, but it was only hot and spicy.  I didn't really get the feel of all-spice and therefore it didn't remind me of jerk chicken I've had in Jamaica.  The accomplanying salad was dressed with a Japanese flavored dressing (similar to the bottles found in western stores labelled Japanese ginger dressing).  The rice was a coconut bean rice, actually quite nice.  The curry was Indian in flavor, and was tongue numbing spicy.  I didn't want to eat it with the rice as it overpowered the coconut
