Ibasho: If you're in Nagoya, you have to eat this...
Area: Sakae
Restaurant: Ibasho
Address: 3-13-22 Nishi,Nakaku,Nagoya 名古屋市中区錦3-13-22
This dish is so mouth-watering!! It's grilled eel atop of rice...but it's not the usual unagi donburi. It's "hitsumabushi"; the eel is somehow grilled so that it has a delicious crispy outer layer. The combination of that and the sauce is worth the price (not the cheapest food around here).
The fun part of eating hitsumabushi is that it comes with green tea and an extra bowl. So you can eat it as it is, and/or pour tea over it to make a ochazuke. Both delicious!

Nagoya Eats 名古屋の食べ物 Intro to my BLOG
I'm not much of a blogger, or even a computer user....but I do love food!
I'm currently living in Nagoya, Japan and find that because there aren't many foreigners here as some of the more popular cities, there's a lack of English internet info about the restaurants in this city!
That's why I'm creating this blog...I'll post some of the places I visit, but I really hope to hear from
others in Nagoya and get some recommendations!
